Why donate ?

Richland is a vibrant community, and family involvement is key to its success! The district provides the basics: a building, principal, and teachers, but many aspects that are central to the Richland experience are funded by the school community through the Richland Boosters. By donating to the Boosters giving campaign, you are providing vital support for things such as:

  • Staff Support: Teachers' assistants, French-speaking interns, and our school coordinator (Mr. Gaydos)

  • Student Enrichment Programs: French art and choir, the garden, and subsidies for after school programs through the LA French Academy

  • Beloved community events like the Back-to-School Picnic and Trunk-or-Treat

The requested donation is $1,800 per family (+$200 for 2nd child, and +$100 for each additional child).

To put this in perspective, let's compare our requested contribution with other educational expenses in Los Angeles:

  1. Private School (Lycée): The cost of a 1st grade education at Lycée is $30,850.  Lycée also has a giving campaign on top of those costs, as well as an alumni association that asks for donations after your child graduates.

  2. Daycare Costs: For families with younger children moving into TK/K, you’ll know the average daycare costs are also considerably more than our campaign goal - the Los Angeles daycare average is $14,000/year per child.

  3. Other Public School Campaigns: Many comparable public schools in our area request similar or higher contributions for their giving campaigns.  We’ve done the research - out of 16 West LA public schools, we rank 11th in total donation goal amount among our peers.

That said, all donations, in any amount, are welcome and very appreciated.

All donations are tax-deductible; we provide you with a donation letter for tax reporting purposes.  We are so grateful for the ways that our families show up and support our school to help us give our kids the best learning experience possible.
