Hello, Richland Families. My name is Lori Kathleen Kort, and I am thrilled to be the 4th and 5th grade English/ELA and French Health teacher. Originally from New York, I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in French and Secondary Education. I then earned a Master of Science Degree in Education and French while studying in France. Afterwards, I obtained two additional Master of Arts in Education Degrees in School District Administration.
An educator for over twenty-five years, I am incredibly passionate about teaching and being a lifelong learner myself. I began as a French teacher in the largest public school on Long Island, New York. I have since served as an adjunct professor in two universities, as an Academic Director at a non-profit in Los Angeles, and consulted as an editor to a children’s therapist’s publications.
It has been my pleasure to get to know and work with the 4th grade class and I am excited to have the opportunity to do the same with our 5th graders. I love being part of the Richland Avenue Elementary family and am excited to be a part of this wonderful community. Go Tigers!
